The Bachatta dance is romantic in nature and resembles the bolero, but was also influenced by Salsa and Merengue. The Bachatta is meant to be a synchronized dance with your partner that glides across the dance floor. The timing consists of three steps to a four count of music. The movement is easy for all ages and level of dancers. The overall emphasis of this dance is seen through the alluring hip and body movements. To add to the sensuality of the dance some may dance in extremely close proximaty with their partner with the male having his arms wrapped around the woman as if giving a big hug, while the female has one hand wrapped around his shoulder and the other grasping the back of the mans neck as they stare deep into each others eyes giving a look of seduction.
Now that I have everyone's attention.....There is a Bachatta convention next weekend Feb 17th in 18th in Miami.....No hotter place to learn and practice your sensual Bachatta. I will post the info next posting.
I know bachata! Ok, well "know" may be a strong word, but I've danced the bachata before and remember the basics!!
